Life is tough and sometimes feels hopeless, but it doesn't have to be that way!

Learn the Truth behind the lies...

About Us

In 2011, a Facebook Page was created as part of the healing process of a young girl who had lost a friend to suicide. The premise of the page was to invite others to write the word love on their arm on a specific date in memory of someone they had lost to suicide. The page was named "Your Worth More Than You Know". Hundreds of youth signed up and committed to this memorial. Seeing this, our founder was inspired into action - not long after UR Worth More was born.

From 2012-2015, UR Worth More was a free youth event whose message of hope was based on the premise of Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." After four years, the decision was made to push the pause button, regroup, pray and seek direction.

Today, UR Worth More offers a variety of workshops on suicide prevention/intervention to anybody who wants to learn life saving skills. We also provide youth events/conferences and are available for speaking engagements and youth talks.

Our Mission

Born out of a heart of concern for teen suicide and teens who self-harm, the purpose of UR Worth More Ministries is to:
  • Create an environment through which we speak value and inspire young people towards God’s promise of a plan, hope and future as stated in Jeremiah 29:11
  • Educate and equip today's Church, its leaders and any others in the area of suicide prevention/intervention.
"During a time of great turmoil in Israel’s history, God spoke a message of hope to His people. It is this same message we endeavour to speak to the youth, young adults and any other in this nation and beyond."
- Nicole P. Smith, Founder

Workshops

A two day workshop designed to equip anyone to feel comfortable, confident & competent in helping to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.

A four hour workshop through which you will learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, engaging a person with thoughts of suicide and connecting them to an intervention resource for further support.

Speaking

Since 2012, Nicole has been involved in the battle against suicide. Out of a heart for preventing teen suicide and self-harm, she founded UR Worth More Ministries. She speaks a message of hope and love through a wide variety of creative and innovative avenues pointing people, especially youth/young adults, towards Jesus Christ.

Through UR Worth More, Nicole offers workshops equipping anyone who wants to learn important suicide intervention skills through ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and safeTALK (Tell, Ask, Listen and KeepSafe) training. An accomplished event professional and experienced writer, Nicole is currently writing her first book.

Nicole is the Director of Creative Arts at WellSpring Community Church in Welland as well as a Licensed Minister with The Ministers Network. She is the wife of Ron Smith and mother of Michelle and Marcel Smith.
